COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Participants gain a basic understanding of the operation of a fire extinguisher, with an emphasis on extinguisher types, sizes and classes.
This course meets CSA standards and exceeds OH&S requirements.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This half-day program includes theory, tools and knowledge to safely operate a fire extinguisher. The course material is professionally delivered and includes hands-on activities, practical analysis, and focuses on student participation.

To have a basic knowledge of fire chemistry.

Understand the process of fire extinguishments using various extinguishing mediums.

Identify the different types of hand held fire extinguishers and the operation methodology of each.

Demonstrate practical skills with a dry chemical extinguisher and be able to extinguish a liquid hydrocarbon fire.

Demonstrate proper inspection and maintenance of a fire extinguisher.
